The Fixers Universe

Skyler Dumont

Every industry has people whose whole job is making the disaster go away before morning. This is what happens when one of them falls for the disaster.

Connected standalone romances — each with its own ending, each set inside a house that fixes what powerful people break. Explicit, and never only that.

The Night Desk

There is a file I keep.

Every house inherits the same doctrine from the same man, and nobody working today has met him. What he left behind comes down in fragments — a rule, a habit, a line somebody repeats without knowing where they got it. One turns up in every book.

"You don't fix the story. You fix the person telling it."

— attributed to the Founder. No one has produced the original.

The Founder's Dossier collects all seven in one place. Including an eighth, which appears in no book at all.

It costs nothing. It is not for sale anywhere.

Take the file

You'll also get release-morning notice on new books and the occasional scene that did not survive the final draft. No shared lists. No sold addresses. Unsubscribe closes the file for good.

What to expect

So nobody is surprised.

Heat

Explicit, open-door, on the page. Intended for adult readers.

Ending

Happily ever after. Every book, every couple, no exceptions.

Order

Each is a standalone. Start anywhere — the last two reward reading in sequence.

Length

Novellas. One sitting, or two.

Kindle Unlimited

All seven, from release day.

Content

Grief, family estrangement, and workplace power are handled on the page across the series. Nothing gratuitous.

The author

Skyler Dumont writes about the people standing just outside the frame.

Not the star. The one in the wings holding the star's phone — who knows precisely which sentence would end him, and has decided, for now, not to say it.

The fixers. The handlers. The people whose entire profession is making sure you never find out. She is interested in what it costs to be extraordinarily good at managing other people's disasters, and in what happens on the day one of those disasters stops being a job.

Her books are explicit, and they are never only that. Every scene between two people has to move something — somebody gives a thing up, or admits a thing, or stops performing for the first time in years. A scene that doesn't change what these two know about each other hasn't earned its place in the book.

The Old Guard

Every house inherits the doctrine.

Marquee is not the first. There were others before it, in other cities, run by people who learned the work from someone who never put his name on anything.

Nobody currently working has met him. Everybody currently working quotes him.

Seven books in, you will not know who the Founder was. That is not an oversight.

Damage, Inc.

New York

Marquee has rules. It has an office, a letterhead, and a reputation it protects as carefully as any client's.

Damage, Inc. has none of that. No sign, no filing, no client list — the firm does not exist on paper, and the people who use it found it because somebody told them where to stand.

Sylvia does not take money. She takes debt, writes it into something called the Ledger, and decides on her own schedule when it comes due.

Same Founder. Same doctrine. Colder city.
